The August 13, 2006 meeting of the Golden Triangle PC Club had a total of 22 participants. The GTPCC was called to order a 2:00 PM by the club president, Don Schoening, who welcomed all members and guests.

After a brief discussion and introduction, the meeting was turned over to Greg Badeaux of NFO Technologies who gave a great presentation on the maintenance and management of computers and their components. In spite of the failure of the Lamar computer, the presentation was a great success with a wealth of information and tips on giving our computers a longer life as well as better performance. A brief discussion on Microsoft's "Vista" was also given.

After a Q & A session the drawing for door prizes was held with 2 winners receiving Flash Drives (donated by Office Depot), 1 winner of the Shadow Copy program (donated by NTI), and 1 winner of the Adobe Acrobat 6 program (donated by NFO Technologies). The GTPCC greatly appreciates these door prize donations.

Greg Badeaux offered a CD of his presentation as well as a utilities CD for those who requested them by E-mail, gtpcclub@gt.rr.com, to be picked up at the September 2006 meeting.

After a brief plea from the president to utilize our web site, and with no further business the meeting was adjourned at 3:55 PM.

Our next meeting will be held September 10, 2006, and will feature a Q & A session hosted by Ira Wilsker. Bring your computer questions for answers by show and tell.

Respectfully submitted by
Don Schoening
GTPCC president
