The May 18, 2008 meeting of the Golden Triangle PC Club had a total of 20 members, and 12 visitors in attendance.

Dr. Sam Giglio conducted the discussion group prior to the meeting in which members and visitors participated in discussions regarding various aspects of computer problems. Including a members problem with vista not booting correctly on a Dell E521 

At 2:30, Dr. Sam Giglio, called the meeting to order. Dr. Sam Giglio introduced the speaker, Steven Fore of Computer Shak. Steven Fore gave the club an advanced look at wireless networking. Including a detailed explanation of wireless connectivity and its invention at the University of Hawaii during the late 70's. 

Steven also gave us details on the coming WiMAX technology. With its extensive corporate cooperation from the likes of Sprint, Verizon, Cisco, Netgear and many others. With WiMAX access one will be able to use a wireless standard across the board. WiMAX will also blanket large areas and provide users with broadband like speeds.

We had one new member. Roy Isom, and 2 member renewals.

Edna Davis and Angela Walker each received edition’s of “The Digital Photography Companion” by Derrick Story.
